How to Make Masters-Inspired Pimento Cheese Sandwiches
Overview
Bring a taste of Augusta into your home by making the iconic pimento cheese sandwich. At the Masters, sandwiches are served on basic white bread, emphasizing simplicity and tradition.
Recipe
Ingredients Needed
Sharp cheddar cheese
Monterey Jack cheese
Pimentos (rinsed and drained)
Cream cheese
Mayonnaise
Garlic salt
White sandwich bread (preferably inexpensive, as used at the Masters)
Preparation Steps
Grate the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
Transfer grated cheese to a bowl.
Add mayonnaise and cream cheese to the bowl.
Mix ingredients together (using a mixer or food processor; Craig prefers a food processor for ease).
Add pimentos and garlic salt to the mixture.
Blend everything until well combined.
Assembly
Spread the prepared pimento cheese mixture onto slices of white bread.
Cut the sandwich in half for serving.
The result closely resembles the affordable, classic Masters pimento cheese sandwich (noted as costing $1.50–$2 at the tournament).

Hey everybody, it's Craig from Private Fairway and it's Master's Weekend and a few years ago I got to go to the Master's and I had one of their famous pimento cheese sandwiches and so it's become kind of a tradition each Master's Weekend to make pimento cheese sandwiches. It's super easy.
I'm going to show you how to do it and the recipe will be here in the body of the post. But really easy, you just need some cheese, some sharp cheddar Monterey Jack cheese, you need some pimentos, you need some cream cheese, some mayonnaise, and a little bit of garlic salt.
And I like to make it all in the food processor, it makes it really easy. And so let's just go ahead and get started. The first thing we're going to do is grate the cheese. Once the cheese is grated, I just move it to this other bowl here.
Now with this other bowl, we just put in the mayonnaise and we put in the cream cheese. You can use a mixer, some guys do that. That's what Dustin Johnson does in his little golf digest video, but you get it kind of mixed.
You can do this probably in the processor too, but I'm going to put it back in this processor with the blade. All right, you take your rinsed and drained pimentos, put those in, put in your garlic salt, put it back here on the...
At the Masters, they just use probably the least expensive white bread they can buy, because it's only $1. 50 or $2 for a pimento cheese sandwich. It was $1. 50 when I was there, but it was a while ago. Take our little pimento cheese spread, spread it on, cut it in half, and there you go.
