Analyze Your Swing Video to See What You Need to Fix

TrackMan AI Motion Swing Analysis Update

Overview

This update introduces enhanced AI-powered motion swing analysis features in the TrackMan software at Private Fairway, offering golfers more detailed feedback on their swings using both built-in cameras and additional iPhones for higher frame rates.

Key Features and Enhancements

  • Expanded Motion Analysis

    • Previously available metrics: shoulder and hip turn.

    • Newly added: club head, club shaft, lead arm, and more.

    • Visual indicators (green circles) confirm successful video analysis.

  • Customizable Visual Feedback

    • Users can toggle specific swing elements:

      • Club shaft and club shaft trail (traces club shaft movement).

      • Club head trail (shows backswing in red, downswing in yellow).

      • Shaft plane and shoulder plane (assess swing plane adherence).

      • Shoulder line, lead arm line, and hip line for additional static reference.

  • 3D and Multi-Angle Views

    • Multiple camera angles provide comprehensive swing perspectives.

    • 3D-like view available by combining different trails and planes.

  • iPhone Integration

    • External iPhones can be added for higher frame rate video capture.

    • Reduced shaft blur improves motion detail.

    • Adjusting iPhone framing may be tricky but enhances analysis quality.

User Guidance

  • Green indicators confirm successful analysis; persistent failures should be reported for troubleshooting.

Hey everybody, this is Craig, and in the latest version of the TrackMan software here at Private Fairway, we have TrackMan's new AI motion swing analysis that's really going to help you now. We've had it for a little while. There have been a few simple things you can look at, like shoulder and hip turn.

We've now added club head, club shaft, and lead arm, and a few others. And I just want to give you a quick overview of how it works.

So in this setup, I have it actually set up where I've added, if you look here, I have the built-in cameras, and then I've added a couple of iPhones just to give you kind of an idea of what the difference is. So I have one shot that I've hit here, and you can see I have a few things turned on.

So now when we come here under the AI motion analysis, if it's green, that means it successfully was able to analyze it. And also, you'll see here, these are my different angles.

As long as I have these little circles, that means it successfully analyzed the video.

Occasionally, it won't, depending on like, well, whatever is going on. If you see that it never analyzes it, let me know and we'll figure it out.

So right here, I've turned on, for this view, I've turned on the club head trail, the club shaft, and the club shaft trail, but let's turn them off here, and let's just turn on one.

So let's just turn on club shaft, and now you'll see it's going to trace the club shaft for me as I swing back, so I can see where is my club shaft as I swing through.

And then if I want to add the club head trail, now you'll see I can come back here and it's going to show me, this red is going to be my backswing, and then the yellow is going to be my downswing.

And you'll see I have, showing me this little over-the-top move right there as I come through, and that could be related to the fact that my shoulders are turning before my hips, which I'm working on.

You can also add the club shaft trail, so if you want to get kind of like a 3D kind of view at different points on your swing, so it gives you kind of just another view of what's going on. Now, there's some other cool features you can turn on.

You can also turn on the shaft plane here, so if I want to put the shaft plane, or shoulder plane, so there's my shoulder plane, here's my shaft plane, so then you can also look at as you come through, are you staying on plane?

So even though I have a little slight over-the-top move, it's not bad, but coming through, but then if I wanted to put a reference on it, like club shaft, you can get an idea of what's happening with that club shaft, it's under the plane, under the plane, and then under the plane as it comes back through.

On the other view, you can turn on like your shoulder line, those are static ones, but you can turn on your shoulder line, lead arm line, and your hip line. And now I have these different views here, so now it's showing me my arm, lead arm, as I come through, and my shoulder and hip turn as I come through.

So I'm going to give you just kind of an idea. I have my iPhone added in, if I squish it down here, the nice part about the iPhone is if I turn off some of these things, I can get a little higher frame rate, so you'll see like you can get a little higher frame rate as you come through, like that.

Same over here, if I put on the iPhone, frame on here, squish it down, it's a little tricky to get the iPhone framed just right, but you can see as I do it, you know, you get like pretty, you get almost no shaft blur as you come through, like that.

So you can hook up your iPhone and you can do different motion analysis here on the shaft analysis at Private Fairway. So come on in, try it out, see how it goes, if you have problems, let us know and we'll help you out.
