Is Your Golf Game Optimized! Find out with the Optimizer.

00:16

Hey, this is Craig at Private Fairway and in this quick video, I'm going to show you one of the cool features we have here in our Trackman setup that's going to help you really understand what's going on with your golf game and make some improvements and it's called

00:27

the optimizer. So, let's jump in. Okay, so we're going to choose a club now. And if you're in one of our locations that uses the Trackman IO, this feature works for the driver, the Woods, and the hybrids. It does not yet work for your irons and wedges. That's something that

00:40

Trackman's working on. They need to get the attack angle measurement down for the for irons and wedges. Um, they say they're working on it. They just are not happy with the math. But if you're using in one of our locations with the Trackman 4, you can use it with all the

00:53

clubs in your bag. So, for this video, I'm going to show you how it works with the hybrids in the woods. and uh you can translate that into the irons if you're in one of our Trackman 4 locations. So, the first thing we're going to do is pick a club. So, we'll pick a five

01:05

hybrid. And then we're going to come down here. We're going to pick optimizer. And you'll see what happens is it changes our screen. It kind of simplifies it down for us. And uh now it's going to measure these different um it's going to measure these different data points and then give us a zone as

01:23

to what is the ideal data point based uh what is the ideal zone I mean for each data point based on uh our club speed and uh attack angle and some of those things. So uh let's pull this up. We'll hit a few shots and show you kind of how it looks. So, we'll hit a couple shots. Hopefully,

01:45

they'll go smooth. Okay. Just left it a little open. Left it even more open. It's a little better. Okay. So, out of those three shots, what you'll see is it's going to measure for me these different data points and then tell me based on what trajectory I have. And I

02:34

think I actually have a fairly high trajectory. So, we're going to switch this to high trajectory because if we want to look, my height with that hybrid is 104. And you'll see when you open this, it kind of simplifies your data points, but you can add more in. So,

02:51

like if you wanted to put in other data points into this, you could um the way we have it set up also, you could put up whatever you want on the side screen so you can look at different data points while you're doing this, too. But you'll see here on this shot, for example, this

03:07

last one with the high trajectory, when it's blue like that, that means I'm I'm doing pretty good. But you can see I missed a few data points. Mostly my attack angle here is a little sweepy. And then uh and because of that, my spin's a little bit low. Um and then uh

03:22

but the rest of them are in here. And if I were to go look at these other ones, you can see they're still fairly good. Although like see this one here, my spin is a lot lower than it should be. Mostly due to my attack angle. Uh same thing here. I just that's just a challenge I

03:36

have is getting getting that low point in front of the golf ball on when I swing with longer clubs. So some of you might have the same problem, but but I could try to adjust it now and think about that. See if I can make it better. See there? I got my attack angle in the right spot,

04:01

but I left the club face open a lot. So, not necessarily better. There we go. So, there we go. Now, little fade, but uh you can see that that now I have all those data points like right in the zone. So, that's like a perfect swing with the hybrid for me. Now, if I wanted to um do the same with

04:32

the driver here, change our club to a driver. And now we'll just make the same. So, we'll just hit a few shots and see what the difference is. Maybe I'll just stop right there. All right, one more. Ah, pulled it a little bit. Okay, good. So now you see with the driver

05:42

um this is set to max carry. So it's a little different. It's not based on your trajectory. So you could choose which one of these you want to look at. So this is max carry in total. And if I were to scroll through these here, this first swing was my closest, right? And it's going to measure

06:01

spin loft, ball speed, launch angle, uh spin rate, and height. And uh so you can see like it's hitting a little high. Ball speed's a little low, launch angle's a little high, spin's a little high. Um but you can see that you this will give you kind of an idea. So as you're working on that, you

06:21

can look at different things, right? So maybe uh my ball speed on this one might be a little bit low. Um just because I didn't hit it in the center. I can look at that actually. We could see where did I hit it. Yeah, see I hit it on the heel, right? So I hit it

06:39

on the heel. So I lowered my ball speed. My launch angle could be related to my attack angle. My attack angle. Um and uh and also like I hit that a little low on the face. So that's going to lower than you know the optimal spot right here. So that's going to create a

06:57

little bit more spin. See like this one here where I hit it in the good spot but still pretty high spin, right? So, uh, so anyway, the optimizer can let you really dial that in and look at different different aspects of your of your game. And then, uh, for those of

07:12

you that are on our Trackman 4 system, I'll show you here how it works with the irons. So, uh, can hit an eight iron a few times. Okay. So, similar with the eight iron, you can come in here and look at the different data points. So, you can see like here, this is still giving me some

08:20

credit, but it's also based on, you know, you could put it in based on your trajectory, right? So if you have more of like a mid- trajectory, but then it's also telling you just exactly what's going on. And you can usually just kind of find the culprit, right? If your

08:33

spin's a little low, it's usually because your attack angle is low. And then spin loft is actually related to your attack angle and the dynamic loft of the club, right? It's those things working together. So in this swing I might be delofting the club just a little bit which is create

08:54

causing my spin loft to be a little bit low. So if I wanted to if you wanted to think about that so like an eight iron's actual loft is significantly more than 25.4. So that just means as I'm coming through I'm delofting it a little bit and I could kind of work on that and see if I can improve that.

09:22

So see now that brings my spin loft up to 31. Right? So you can work on different things with this and get an idea of exactly what's going on with your golf game using the uh optimizer. You can also use the optimizer um in some other features, but you can put it up on the sidewall screen like we

09:44

have here uh rather than inside the shot analysis. So sometimes when I'm practicing uh and I want to use the optimizer, I'll set it up like this so it's kind of a normal look and feel for when I'm practicing down the range, but then I can look over here on the screen

10:03

on the wall and see what's going on. So, you can set that up in any of our locations the way you like it. It's you just set that up here under extended screens. Go to screen two and you're just going to choose the optimizer as one of your options. And then you can

10:17

put whatever else you want in the other window. So, that's how I do it. That's uh the optimizer in shot analysis. A good way for you to work on your golf game over the winter and really hone it in and understand exactly what's going on.
