The Screens are Messed Up

Troubleshooting Trackman Extended Screen Issues

Overview

This guide explains how to resolve common issues with Trackman extended screen setups, specifically when display outputs are switched or not showing the correct content. It covers identifying the problem, correcting screen assignments within Trackman (not Windows), and customizing what appears on each screen.

Main Idea

  • Problem: Side and main screens (projector) are displaying the wrong content, or the side screen is blank.

  • Solution: Use Trackman's extended screen settings to reassign displays and select the desired content for each screen.

Key Points

  • Do Not Use Windows Display Settings

    • Avoid adjusting Windows display settings for this issue.

    • All fixes should be performed within Trackman's own interface.

  • Identifying the Problem

    • The side screen is displaying what should be on the main (projector) screen, or vice versa.

    • Sometimes, the side screen may be blank (only showing the Windows background).

  • Fixing the Screen Assignment

    • Access the extended screens section within Trackman.

    • The interface will show which screen is assigned as the projector (main) and which as the side screen.

    • If the projector and side screen assignments are swapped, switch them back by reassigning the orange TPS and projector buttons to the correct screens.

  • Restoring Content to the Side Screen

    • If the side screen is blank, it may be set to "off."

    • Select screen two, maximize it, and choose the desired view (e.g., Tracer, dispersion, side top view, video).

    • You can choose what appears on the side screen and adjust the view (carry, show all, etc.).

  • Additional Features

    • Use the settings button to add controls to the side screen for easy access during practice.

    • Split the side screen into two windows to display different content simultaneously (e.g., video and dispersion).

  • Virtual Golf Note

    • Virtual golf mode introduces more complexity; a separate video tutorial covers troubleshooting for that scenario.

Important Concepts

  • Screen Assignment: Ensuring the main and side screens display the intended content by using Trackman's settings.

  • View Selection: Customizing what data or visuals appear on each screen for optimal practice or presentation.

  • Interface Controls: Using built-in settings and split-screen features to tailor the user experience.

Key Takeaways

  • Always use Trackman’s interface—not Windows settings—to fix screen assignment issues.

  • You can fully control what appears on each screen, including splitting the side screen for multiple views.

  • If problems persist in virtual golf mode, consult the dedicated video tutorial for further help.

okay if you run into this problem where your screens are messed up and what you're getting on the side screen is what you should be getting on the main screen, so here this little screen is the side screen, this big screen is the projector of the main screen, and let me show you what's happened.

The extended screen settings have gotten messed up, either something that Trackman did, something you did, something somebody else did, but this is how they got messed up. Now, you don't ever need to fix this in the Windows display settings, so don't ever mess with the Windows display settings.

Just come in here and you click extended screens, and I'll show you what's going on. So on the side screen now, you're seeing screen one is the projector, screen two is the side screens, and then what's happened is these little orange TPS buttons and projector buttons have gotten assigned to the second screen.

So we just have to do is just switch them over and switch them over like that, put the projector on there, and now we're back to normal.

And then if you want to control what goes up on the side screen, so the other problem might be, hey, that side screen doesn't have anything on it, like it's just the Windows background. If that's the case, that's just because it got set to off.

So now you'll see up here we're on screen two, and we go to maximized, and then we can pick a view.

So like for example, we can put the Tracer on that screen too, or we can put the dispersion on that screen, or we can put the side top view on that screen, or the video, or whatever we want to put, we can put on that side screen. So you can do as one view, and then you'll see you'll have the options for that view.

Like if you want to be carry or show all, you can also click this little settings button right here, and it will add the settings on the side screen so you can mouse over and change those while you're practicing. You can also split the screen and put into two windows, and then you can put different things up there.

So you could put video up there, or you could put dispersion or impact, whatever that might be. So that's what's going on with the side screens. If you get those things messed up, it's pretty easy to change.

You can do the same settings for virtual golf, but the virtual golf adds a little layer of complexity, and there's another video on how to fix it if you have that same problem in virtual golf
